Lessons from the Ground: Framing and Interpreting Human Rights in the Balkans

This spring, PCRC is proud to co-sponsor the conference ‘Lessons from the Ground: Framing and Interpreting Human Rights in the Balkans’ convened by Tanya L. Domi and Laura Cohen at The Harriman Institute at Columbia University. Domi is a professor at Columbia, SIPA and PCRC’s Advisory Board President and Cohen works at the Kupferberg Holocaust Center. During the conference, we will be organizing a special screening of our documentary Uspomene 677 (677 Memories) that will proceed after a keynote speech by Emir Suljagić, a professor at the International University of Sarajevo. Additionally, during the second day of the conference, Velma Šaric, PCRC’s President and Columbia University in the City of New York fellow, will take part in a panel session titled ‘Owning the Narrative: Next Generation Tensions at Home and Abroad’.
