Date of Implementation: 2012 (Ongoing)
Each spring, PCRC assists the Danish Institute for Study Abroad (DIS) during their visit to Bosnia-Herzegovina. Visiting groups consist of American university students who are spending one semester in Copenhagen as part of DIS’ Justice and Human Rights program. The six-day program is designed to provide insight into Bosnia-Herzegovina’s complex history and post-conflict situation and PCRC ensures that students are able to examine a wide variety of perspectives that comprise the country’s historical, political, economic and social contexts.
“One of my biggest takeaways was that, as cliché as it sounds, we can never stop trying to establish peace. Speaking with and listening to the people whose daily lives revolve around trying to make this country and its people happier, was nothing short of inspiring. And, despite the difficulties and bleak outlook, it taught me that change can come through persistence and resilience - two qualities that Bosnian people definitely possess.”
- Thomas, DIS Student
